Amber promo code not working?

Most Amber promo code problems come down to an out-of-date code, eligibility, or credit that simply hasn't arrived yet. Work down this list. Each fix is based on Amber's referral terms or its help centre.

Quick fix

Use the current code, X9DWGVWC (checked 11 October 2026), at sign-up. If you've already joined without it, email info@amber.com.au and ask for it to be added. Credit can take up to two months to show on a bill.

Every reason, and the fix

1. The code has been replaced

   Amber customers' codes change, and pages around the web keep showing old ones. The code on this site is X9DWGVWC, checked on 11 October 2026. Look for a date next to any code you find, and use the most recently checked one.

2. It was typed wrong

   Amber's Mates Rates codes are 8 letters and numbers. Copy and paste rather than retyping, or use the button on this page, which opens Amber's sign-up with X9DWGVWC already in the promo field.

3. You've been an Amber customer before

   The promo is only for people who have never been Amber customers, at their current home or at any earlier home or business address (Amber referral terms, clause 1.1.1). Moving house doesn't make you a new customer again.

4. Another discount is on your sign-up

   Only one discount applies per customer. A promo code can't be combined with another discount code at sign-up (clause 4.5), and people who join with Amber's CommBank code get the CommBank benefit instead of the promo credit. If you have more than one code, Amber suggests entering the one worth the most.

5. You've used a discount at another property

   Amber's help centre says only one discount applies per customer, even if you have several properties, and the terms tie the code to one supply address (clause 1.1.2).

6. The code wasn't entered at sign-up

   Amber's help centre says that if you forgot to enter a promo code, you can email info@amber.com.au and ask for it to be added. Do it soon after joining, and include the code and your account details.

7. The credit hasn't shown up yet

   Amber processes the credit as soon as practicable and no later than two months after you join (clause 4.4). It then appears as $10 off each monthly bill, listed under "Credits". A first bill without it isn't a sign the code failed.

8. You're outside Amber's area or under 18

   Amber supplies NSW, Victoria, South Australia, the ACT and south-east Queensland, and checks each address. New customers must be at least 18 (clause 1.1.3).

9. The credit stopped

   If you leave Amber, any credit you haven't received yet is forfeited (clause 4.8). Amber can also decline or remove a referral credit if it believes the terms weren't met or a referral isn't genuine, and may ask for ID to check eligibility (clause 4.6).
